COVID 19 related questions
  • Yes, both inbound & outbound travel is open. However for inbound travel, you have to get approval from the Civil Aviation Authority and the Foreign Ministry first.
  • You have three options; Approval route, Tourist route & Repatriation 
  • Yes, the Sri Lankan airport does require a PCR test 96 hours prior to flying. 
  • This depends on which country you’re returning from and if you chose the repatriation route. 
  • If you’ve had both doses of the vaccine and it’s been two since the last dose, you will have to stay at a quarantine center for one night in order to conduct a PCR test. If the results of the PCR test comes back negative then you can return home and continue your 14 days at home quarantine. 
  • If you’re not vaccinated you will have to go to an approved hotel and stay for 7 days. If your PCR test comes back negative on the 7th day you can complete the next 7 days on home quarantine after informing your PHI. If you’re not vaccinated you will have to go to an approved hotel and stay for 7 days. If your PCR test comes back negative on the 7th day you can complete the next 7 days on home quarantine after informing your PHI. 
  • There are two. The first would be done on the day you arrive to the hotel and the final one on the 7th day.
